Hairdressing is a great career! Quite apart from the brilliant, creative people you work with, and the interesting clients you meet, it’s one of only a few professions where your career destiny really is in your own hands. Those celebrity hairdressers you see on TV, or credited in your favourite magazines, all began as juniors, learning their trade from the bottom up. The same goes for salon owners.
So how do you begin?
As a rule, our school-leavers begin with work based training, for a two-year Modern Apprenticeship to NVQ Level 2 in Hairdressing, moving up to an Advanced Modern Apprenticeship at NVQ Level 3.
Once you’re trained with Headlines, you’ll earn a good salary that reflects the high level of responsibility you will have to maintaining the Team’s high standards. You can also decide to specialise as a Colour Specialist or as an Advanced Stylist, building your own clientele.
There could also be the opportunity to train further for the NVQ Level 4 in salon management. Or you may like to get involved in training and/or competition and photographic work as part of the Headlines Creative Team.
Whether you’re an experienced hair professional with a good portfolio and a strong clientele, or simply keen to get your foot on the salon career ladder, we’d love to hear from you.
