Headlines Hairdressing trainees recently proved they have what it takes to get to the top when they took part in a competition showcasing their work.
An audience of just over 250 people packed the Ivory Rooms in Billericay top see the outstanding work of 20 trainees from the salons in Billericay, Rayleigh, Shenfield and Wickford.
The group were asked to find their won models and create a strong visual look that would make a big impact on the assembled judges. They were given help and advise from Headlines trainers, but were largely expected to bring their own ideas to life.
And they certainly did not disappoint. Billy Moore, one of the judges who works for leading hairdressing training organisation Central Hairdressing Academy said: 'The quality of the work produced was outstanding.'
'The whole group showed clearly that they had worked really hard and, best of all, their work reflected the high standard of training they have received.'
With the training divided into groups, the winner of the Tuesday Training Group was Kirsty Cooper, 16, who works at the Billericay salon. Winner of the Wednesday Training Group and overall winner was Felicity Townsend, who works at Headlines Wickford.
Both winners received £50, courtesy of competition sponsors Salon Consultancy Services, and a pair of professional scissors also went to overall winner Felicity.
Simon Harris, Managing Director of the Headlines group, said 'I think both of these girls along with all our trainees, have a bright future ahead of them. If you have passion, commitment and talent, a career in hairdressing offers huge potential.'
